At FreeUnlimitedConverter, we treat the security of your data as seriously as we treat the quality of our tools. Our security model is fundamentally different from most online converters: instead of protecting files on a server, we designed the Service so your files never leave your device in the first place. You can't breach what was never uploaded.
The core principle: client-side processing
Every conversion, compression, and edit runs entirely inside your web browser using your device's own processing power. Your files are never transmitted to our servers or any third party. This eliminates the biggest risk in online file tools — a central server holding millions of users' private documents — because that server simply doesn't exist in our architecture.
Technology
No file uploads
Files are read and processed locally in your browser (via WebAssembly, the WebCodecs API, and the HTML Canvas API). They are never uploaded, stored, or cached on a server.
HTTPS / TLS encryption
All communication between your browser and our website is encrypted in transit using modern TLS, protecting the pages and code you load from tampering or eavesdropping.
In-memory only
Your files exist only in your browser's memory while you work. Closing or refreshing the page clears them — there is no copy left behind on any server.
No account, no database
We have no logins, passwords, or payment records, so there is no account database of personal information that could be exposed.
Minimal data footprint
We process only the limited technical data needed to run the site (such as standard server logs and aggregated analytics), as described in our Privacy Policy.
Reputable infrastructure
The website itself is served from reputable hosting over HTTPS, and large processing components are loaded from trusted sources, wrapped as same-origin resources.

Privacy by design
Privacy isn't a setting we added — it's the architecture. Because nothing is uploaded, your data stays in your control by default.
Data minimization
We collect as little as possible. No files, no accounts, and no selling of personal data to anyone, ever.
Transparent advertising
We fund the free Service with advertising and disclose exactly how cookies and ad partners work in our Privacy Policy, including how to opt out.
Responsible disclosure
If you discover a security issue, we want to know. Contact us and we'll respond promptly and work with you to address it.
Compliance
Our privacy practices are designed with major data-protection regulations in mind, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). A note on honesty
Many converter sites advertise "bank-grade data centers" and "encrypted servers" to protect the files you upload to them. We took a different path: we don't upload your files at all, so there's nothing on a server to protect. We think that's a stronger guarantee than any server-side promise.
